Would never recommend to others to use and have actively told others not to consider. No internal expertise in home building appears to exist any longer. Most issues and quality concerns were brushed off by SPH or we had to address with the sub-contractors directly. Never felt supported through the process and once the build started there was little to no engagement from those we had started working with. Budget was blown in the first draw and part of reason we selected SPH was because we were promised that SPH quotes were realistic to our expectations and to the quality & finishes that we saw and there wouldn't be surprises.
We are very pleased with our Steeple Home build. We hope to be here for many many years to come. Choosing to build in 2020-2021 proved challenging with supply chain issues, but Steeple Pointe managed to keep our project on time without cost increases. We were knowledgeable about the building process and were vigilant over our build. As a custom home builder we hope that Steeple Pointe receives our feedback and is able to improve the process even further in order to exceed their next customers expectations.
Most Excited For - To see all the time and effort I have invested come together. Have spent considerable time investigating and trying to make best decisions.
This was our first new construction home so we don't have any previous experience with other builders to compare Steeple Pointe against. That being said, we did recommend Steeple Pointe to one of our friends and the feedback they gave us was not positive. While Steeple Pointe was willing to work work with us on design modifications to fit within our budget the feedback from others was not the same. The feedback we received was that Steeple Pointe simply said, we cant do what you want so "look elsewhere". Other reasons for hesitation are listed below but the main concern is with the lack of communication and lack of attention to our house during construction.
Steve and the Stella model home sold us on the SPH. There was a change in ownership from when we first looked at SPH to when we built. Contract we signed said all doors are to be 7 foot. That was a lie. Front door had to be 6'8" or 8'. Patio doors had to be 6'8" to match the transom windows. Garage service door was not in contract. During rough framing we received a panic call that they needed to add the door and we needed to decide ASAP. SPH was not knowledgeable of building codes regarding emergency exits. The house was finished in oak, but Steve said our window sills had to be pine. That was a lie. WBS said oak was available. Jack and Jill bathroom could not be completed as drawn in blueprints. Anytime issues were brought up Dave was dismissive, condescending, and rude. Eventually had to go through Joe due to all of the issues. I could go on and on, but I believe SPH has all of the emails.
Wonderful quality home! Great people to work with! Enjoyed our building experience.
