We have repeatedly used Tabor Design Build for the past 17 years. We had a whole house remodel in 2000 which was superb and done on time (needed it done by Thanksgiving and it was finished 3 days before!). The company then did smaller projects over the years. This year we had a walk-in shower and an elevator put in for mobility issues for my husband. Again, Tabor delivers quality projects and the house looks fabulous and is totally ready for "aging in place."

We especially appreciated Frank Howard as the lead carpenter on the job who helped make everything run as smoothly as possible each day. We also really appreciated the HVAC contractors who went above and beyond to address the heating system issues during the coldest part of the winter. Lastly, Rick Crump and John Tabor were always responsive to our questions or concerns and made sure to address every issue, big or small. We really couldn't have asked for a better crew from beginning to end.

Expectations Met - The project exceeded our expectations a hundred times over. We were amazed at the organization, craftsmanship and ability to stick to the schedule. The project finished on time and under budget with only the smallest of changes or delays along the way. We could not have asked for a better renovation project. We imagined this process being very stressful and difficult on our family, and in the end, it was one of the most stress free experiences we have had as homeowners.

Areas For Improvement - I wouldn't have known that some of the painting and tile work was sub standard, but Karl made sure that it turned out perfectly. This is what distinguishes your company from the rest. How many companies would have made their subcontractors completely redo work? Especially when the owner might not know the difference? This is what impressed me the most about Tabor Design.

After years of neglect, my home was in terrible state of disrepair, e.g. broken fixtures, holes in walls, inoperable doors, rotting wood, etc. The Tabor Team took my ideas and then added their own, and the result is fantastic. I am now proud of my home. I completely trusted their advice and was so impressed with their work that I ended up asking them to do more. People who know far more about construction that I do have commented on the high quality of the work and the attention to detail. Also, there was no stress at all - the staff is friendly and accommodating - going beyond what is expected or required - they almost felt like family. There was any nick-picking about paying for every little thing that came up, no extra fees that were unexpected.

It was very reassuring to have him there, knowing that he cared, as we watched our "old" house go through the demo process, and then come back to life. Peggy was very helpful in the design of our new home. She has a "good eye" for color and style, and she made sure to try to keep us within budget while still making the design look great. Joe Kucha was the steadying influence on a daily basis at our house. He was very reliable and you always knew you had someone there who was committed to the process.

As stated above, the detail and workmanship that went into the installation and finishing of the cabinets was the most impressive part of the whole job. High quality cabinets will look only as high-end and high-quality as the finishing details and overall quality of installation. In this case - the cabinets look great !
