I already brag to everyone I know or come across about Tilson.

We actually have already referred a friend. They are in the process of making an appointment with Hayden Hersey. He was amazing to work with and we told them to try to get him as well.

Michelle and the staff did a great job, regarding information about our home, options, timelines and costs.

Our rep was very friendly and seemed to know her stuff, but her attention to detail was lacking. She would write things down one time and didn’t remember it the next meeting. When I said do this OR that I ended up with both. It took so long to get plans back from drafting that I just decided to live with it. I requested 36” countertops throughout the house but when I asked for 32” doors to allow for future needs, she assumed I wanted ADA compliant bathroom cabinets as well. My daughter had to argue with the building contractor to get it fixed. Still waiting on that.

Not the experience I was hoping for. Took way longer to complete the house than was originally told it would. Whole experience was stressful and not up to expectations.

Too many delays due to continuous employee turnovers.

Our service with Hayden at the San Marcos officer started off on a great foot. We were initially blown away with his knowledge and attention to detail. Unfortunately, close to the end our project unraveled. We experienced significant delay, incorrect change orders, incorrect information (Lies?), and blatant disrespect by Hayden in an email to us. I engaged David (Manager in San Marcos); to no avail; he remained silent and in support of the disrespectful service his staff were providing. Ultimately I sent an email to Patrick Mayo and the President of Tilson. I never received any response from Tilson leadership, only Patrick Mayo. Patrick worked with David and Hayden to address the situation. While we were not satisfied with the handling of this situation and the lack of decorum and professionalism of Tilson San Marcos, we unfortunately had to continue with our build as we had invested countless hours, numerous round trips to San Marcos for each item Tilson 'forgot' and 4+ months, to just walk away. The Tilson Tuesdays and initial experience masked the illusion that came to be of our actual experience.
Fingers crossed our physical build goes better.

Communication in the beginning was rough. Getting permitting took far too long. The people in those positions should know the county requirements.

Tilson Homes - San Marcos is a very efficient, professional, and good-quality builder.

Tilson touts themselves on being a custom builder. They are not a custom builder. They forced me to accept the cheapest building materials money can buy. I am very upset that I was lied to through the entire process, either by omission or just blatantly to my face. They offer extremely limited options on almost every aspect of the build and if I want something else, they charge me 60% of the their price for the items. This makes it cost prohibitive to get what I want and I’m literally forced to use their subpar building materials.
