Yes
The workers were very professional, finished the job on time and was very neat & clean.
No
The reason for the one-star rating is that the job wasn't completed. I am having problems getting someone back out to correct the problems.
They are the best ever.
They were very unprofessional. It was a disaster and still isn't resolved.
Please, please RUN, don't walk away from this outfit.
This by far the worst contractor experience I've had in over thirty years. I suffered at least two distinct instances of fraud, multiple months of delay and am a couple of thousand bucks out of pocket on my heat pump installation project.
A little more detail:
This outfit describes itself as being "Sears", but is really "Transform SR Home Improvement Products LLC" operating as a franchise out of Florida, with local agents around the country (the SF Bay Area in my case). Presumably they bought/licensed the "Sears" brand name, but that seems to be the only connection to the venerable old chain. They don't do any of the work themselves, they sub-contract to local contractors to perform the actual installation work. These contractors clearly hate dealing with Sears because their margins are tiny, and they have no trouble bad-mouthing Sears, and have no incentive to do good work.
In my case, one sub-contractor performed the installation, and a separate sub-contractor was involved to deal with permitting and the required HERS (heating efficiency) testing. Both of these sub-contractors screwed up royally, and the local "Sears" people didn't stand behind the work performed (or not) by either. The installing contractors failed their inspection twice, left things electrically unsafe, and even fraudulently faked a power outlet that's required by code (and that I paid for, of course). I ended up having to fix things myself, at my own expense, because the work was so shoddy and unsafe - in short the installers were utterly untrustworthy. I also had to waste my time standing the inspections they failed due to their shoddy work. In no instance did the Sears people even express regret over the hassles I experienced, let alone apologise or make any effort to undo the damage or compensate me for my time and expenses.
Bottom line: My very worst ever contractor experience both in terms of quality of work and customer service. Yes, this is a franchise outfit, so your mileage may vary. This is a little like finding mouse droppings in a hamburger. Will the chain's head office ever answer the phone? Other franchisees may be just fine. Indeed, mouse droppings in your hamburger might not kill you, but that doesn't mean that you should go to this hamburger joint if you have any choice in the matter, and you do.
Transform Home Improvement lied to me every step of the way. They did not shingle the roofing over the porch and did not inform me that this would happen. I had plenty of time to research what I should have done and discovered that they originally charged me $5,000 to $10,000 over what I could have done this work for. Finally they tried to get my debit card and social security number. They lied about why. I am suspicious.
SO, SO glad to have this done; and I'm grateful to have it done with such quality.
Transform SR Home Improvement Products did a very outstanding job. They were very professional, answered all my questions, and were always on time. They were hard workers.
good job done on time
No, I could not recommend them.
I was surprised with the work. It started and finished on time. It was very neat, accurate, and the workers were very courteous. They were definitely expedient in their knowledge of what they were doing.
I am not likely to recommend them, because I don't feel the job was done properly. Sears Home Improvement recommended them, and I will never use Sears Home Improvements ever again.
They did a special job and I am well pleased.
They were courteous and professional and completed the job in a timely manner.
Everyone was great! They got here, did the job, cleaned up, and left. It looks great!
Presentation was excellent. workers were very effecient and informative of stages of work when asked
My roof is beautiful, start to finish, job completed in one day.
The salesman and his supervisor were all about customer service and ensured the customers were satisfied and happy.
Transform did not live up to the agreement of the contract. The work was performed but not as agreed on and additional charges were added but later waived. Because Transform did not honor their contractual promises, we went through a damaging storm with an impaired roof which caused more damage to the house.
If ever I needed another roof, which I hope I won't, I will definitely call you and use your products.
Everything was good along the way and exactly as they said it would be. The salesman was terrific and followed through immediately.
I let the estimator look at everything that he requested. The prices came in at $6,900. Once I committed to the job, I got a call saying the new price was $12,000. They were kind enough to knock $2,000 off. One of the biggest reasons I chose them was because of the $6,900 figure. I would have ended up paying twice if I went with their ending price. That wasn't an estimate. They we just trying to get the job.
The installation team showed up on time and was very efficient. They finished the job in a timely manner. There was not leaks and not problems when we has storms shortly after.
The quality of the materials and the professionalism of the crew were great. I am extremely unhappy with the color of the roof. It does not reflect the color of the sample shown to me.
They worked very hard, and I was impressed by their organization.
I think Owens Corning and Transform SR Home Improvement Products have very good products. This is based on the roof I got. It looks quality. I received a quality product. I could have gotten a cheaper roof, but I like this roof. It's based on what I like and what I paid for.
I am very, very happy. The crew that came out, was three young guys. I have a fairly steep roof, and they completed the job in three and a half days. They were done and cleaned up well. They were great.
If I could give it a negative rating I would. One star is too many.
I will NEVER again use Transform SR Home Improvement. Many of our neighbors also experienced wind damage to their roofs. They will also never consider using Transform. We are extremely disappointed and feel cheated. We chose this company over lower bids because we felt it would be high qualityWe were duped.
The installers worked fast and diligently. The installers were great. The salesperson was knowledgeable with the information they gave. The only issue is the pricing. I think I paid double, comparable to others of my home, and is the only issue. The pricing is a little high. The quality of work and time of the season is something I put into factor as well. There was a shortage of wood.
Very satisfied with Sears Home Improvement from sales to installation. Our new roof looks great!
The Transform Home Improvement Construction crew did a great job I am pleased
They did excellent work. They are very good at what they do. They are very good at communicating when and how they are going to do it.
The work was efficient and done on the time and date that I presented to them. The communication and timing was good.
Transform SR Home Improvement Products did a nice job!
Everyone was very was very helpful in answering question andinsisting me in getting an retreving information
great experience I am very satisfied and I recommend it to anyone ,got compliments and inquiries from neighbors and family. Some had their job done by other companies and wish they knew about this first, like mine a lot more.
Within a week. Shingles flying off roof! Tears through bails. One had three holes in it!
Transform did what they do it was the contract out company that I was not happy with
I had my entire roof replaced in July 2021. It is now December 2021 and my roof is leaking into my home in areas where it never had before. The roofers also left nails and debris all around the perimeter of my house. And of course I can't get in touch with anyone at Transform to get this fixed. I shouldn't have expected much from any company associated with Sears. Don't waste your time or your money on this shoddy, subpar work.
I think they did an excellent job. Any questions or issues I had, they addressed everything immediately. Everything was fine with them. They did a great job.
The product is okay, but the project manager is not okay.
I was perfectly satisfied with the sale, the work and the demobilization.
Quality products.
If you want communication, your job completed properly, and professionalism, don't use Transform Home Improvement Products. The Owens Corning materials are great, but they are not a good distributor. Run as soon as they knock on your door.
I am not satisfied with the job transform did on my roof. This new roof was put on the end of July 2021 and now it is leaking
We chose Transform Home Improvement Products because it is under the umbrella with Sears. All my life, Sears brand stood for reliability and quality. That is why we chose them. When they showed us the samples, they were knowledgeable in how each piece went together to fix the whole roof. We wanted the best and we got the best!
I can't believe that I was treated the way that I was treat. The turnover process with the employees during this was unbelievable, I didn't understand what was going on.
