Something cool that I've seen done is a sports themed basement. Put your favorite team's color up on the wall and get all kinds of memorabilia (jerseys, championships, etc) that you can decorate with as well. Also Fatheads of players that you can put on the wall can help to give it an even better feel. For the bar area, you can use old t-shirts to cover the stools with, if they have padding.
